A charged Samsung Galaxy S25+ phone suddenly caught fire and exploded in Qinzhou, China on the evening of July 31st. The phone owner's wife was charging it when going to bed. A loud sound occurred and smoke was emitted, but fortunately there were no injuries.
Regarding this incident, the phone owner filed a complaint with Samsung. The company sent the phone to South Korea for inspection. On August 12th, Samsung concluded that the phone had previously fallen and the battery was damaged, causing it to catch fire during charging. Therefore, they determined it was user negligence and refused to provide compensation.
The phone owner did not accept Samsung's decision and responded that the crack on the back was caused by battery expansion, not from falling. He requested detailed inspection records, but Samsung refused to provide them.
