Would you believe a robot that could make your bed, fold laundry, and clean your living room in homes you've never visited before? Now, Figure's latest humanoid robot, Figure 03, has demonstrated such household capabilities during testing in 30 San Francisco Bay Area homes.
Standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 61 kilograms, the robot is equipped with an advanced Helix 2.5 system. Out of 420 test runs, it successfully completed 237 tasks, achieving a 56% success rate. Notably, it performed particularly well at bed-making with a 67% success rate and achieved 62% success when folding laundry. However, it had a lower 40% success rate at organizing toys, indicating room for improvement in this area.
The most impressive aspect is that the Helix 2.5 system controlling the robot can recognize and correct its own mistakes. When the robot encounters difficulties during a task, it can back up, adjust position, and retry. While current performance doesn't allow complete reliance on the robot for all household chores, the results suggest it could become a truly helpful assistant for humans in the near future.
