Samsung has introduced its first Ultra model foldable phone with a booklet form factor. The phone features a 6.5-inch FHD+ Cover screen protected by durable Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 on the outside.
When unfolded, you'll see an 8-inch QXGA+ main screen using Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology with an anti-reflective coating and brightness up to 3000 nits.
Both screens feature 120Hz Adaptive Refresh Rates, which means work and video viewing will be extremely smooth.
This phone places greater emphasis on the camera. The rear triple camera system includes a 200MP Main (2x Optical Zoom), 50MP Ultra-wide, and 10MP 3x Telephoto. On the front, there are two 10MP cameras.
As highlights, the 200MP photos include improved HDR, better low-light photography, 8K video recording capability, and software innovations such as APV encoding.
The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy Processor, with RAM and Storage options ranging from 12GB + 256GB to 16GB + 1TB.
While the phone size is identical to the previously released Fold 7, the use of Silicon-Carbon battery technology increases battery capacity from 4,400mAh to 5,000mAh. The charging system has also been upgraded to 45W with a wired connection and 20W for wireless charging.
Other notable improvements include a new Flex Titanium support system to reduce screen crease visibility, an improved thermal management system, magnetic assistance, and a smoother folding mechanism.
When unfolded, the phone is only 4.1mm thick and weighs approximately 215 grams. It comes in Twilight Purple, Rock Gray, Cloud White, and Pine Green (available online only).
