Xiaomi's President Lu Weibing has officially confirmed on Weibo that the Redmi K90 Max will be introduced in the latter half of this month. While it's unclear whether this phone is a new name for the much-anticipated K90 Ultra or a new model altogether, the technologies that will be included are genuinely impressive.
The most distinctive feature of the K90 Max is the inclusion of an Active Cooling Fan to regulate the phone's temperature. Lu states that compared to competing phones, the fan will have a larger diameter and the airflow volume will be 30 percent greater. The fan can be adjusted up to 3 speed levels, and at the highest level, it can reduce the phone's temperature by up to 10 degrees within 100 seconds. The noise level is as low as 32dB at the lowest setting, so it will operate quietly.
What's remarkable is that despite featuring a large fan, this phone will have IP66/68/69 level dust and water resistance. Currently, pre-orders are available in China starting from CNY 9.9, and when the phone is released, buyers will receive gifts worth CNY 3,600.
