Major technology companies Apple, Samsung, and Google are facing a significant threat of having their devices banned from sale in the American market. The US International Trade Commission (USITC) is conducting an investigation into these companies regarding alleged Spatial Audio patent infringement.
The issue originated from BoomCloud 360, a small California-based audio technology company. They filed a complaint in August, alleging that the three major companies are using their three Spatial Audio patents without authorization. They have also strongly demanded that all devices infringing on their patents be removed from the market.
At present, it is unclear which specific device models are violating these patents. However, Apple, Samsung, and Google have not backed down and have filed counter-lawsuits against BoomCloud 360. The outcome of this major patent dispute, which could shake the tech world, remains to be seen.
