At Galaxy SOHO in Beijing, China, JD.com launched 7Fresh Coffee on August 16, a 24-hour robot coffee shop with no human staff, relying entirely on automated coffee-making systems and AI robots.
Customers can customize their coffee strength and sweetness through a self-service touchscreen or the JD.com app. The automated system completes cup preparation, ice addition, coffee brewing, and syrup mixing in 20-30 seconds, while AI robots deliver the finished coffee to pickup locations.
The system can brew 7-8 cups simultaneously and achieved a Guinness World Record by preparing 202 cups in one hour on opening day. According to JD, the company is also using AI technology to analyze customer preferences and develop new sweetened beverages.
