Renowned Chinese robotics company RealMan Robotics is preparing to deploy nearly 1,000 robots directly into real-world workplaces by 2026, much like science fiction stories. These robots will be assigned to restaurants, factories, pharmacies, and inspection operations, with their primary responsibility being to collect data while performing physical tasks to further advance AI technology.
What's most impressive is that these robots can perform food preparation and pharmaceutical handling tasks as skillfully as humans. For example, in a food processing factory, the RealBOT robot successfully completed all 13 steps of the traditional dumpling wrapping process without error. Additionally, at their 3,000 square meter factory in Changzhou, 150 RealBOT robots are being tested daily, performing over 1,000 different practical tasks.
The company's main objective is to train robots to confront the challenges of an ever-changing external world, rather than confining them to laboratories. However, workers need not worry about immediate job displacement. This plan to deploy 1,000 robots is primarily intended to gather data and research to further improve technology, rather than directly replace human workers.
