Chinese businesses are beginning to deploy humanoid robots in their operations. Over 10 pharmacies in Beijing are using Galbot's G1 robots to handle orders, locate medicines, inventory checks, and shelf restocking to provide 24-hour automated service.
The G1 robot features a humanoid upper body with two arms but moves on a four-wheeled base rather than walking. Standing 1.73 meters tall and weighing 92.5 kilograms, each arm can carry up to 5 kilograms. Equipped with cameras, LiDAR, and NVIDIA's AGX Orin platform, the robot can operate for approximately 8 hours on a single charge.
Beyond pharmacies, these robots are also being deployed in retail stores, warehouses, and factories. Rather than replacing human pharmaceutical experts, these robots handle repetitive physical tasks, while humans continue to perform specialized duties such as prescription verification and medication recommendations.
