Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has introduced its first "Superintelligence" model, Muse Spark, to end the dominance of OpenAI and Google.
This new AI is no longer an open-source model available to everyone like the previous Llama models, but rather a new weapon that will perform exclusively within Meta's own ecosystem.
It is currently available to use on the Meta AI website and will soon reach WhatsApp, Instagram, and AI glasses.
The most distinctive feature of Muse Spark is that it includes 3 adaptable levels according to user needs.
There is the extremely fast "Instant Mode" for daily questions, the robust "Thinking Mode" that requires logical reasoning, and the "Contemplating Mode" that thoughtfully processes advanced scientific or mathematical calculations.
Furthermore, it is sophisticated enough to calculate calories in food just by looking at a photo, and can even create repair instructions by simply taking a photo of broken household items.
Meta has put Alexandr Wang, a top AI field expert, in charge of this project. Muse Spark is more than just a simple chatbot—it will be able to perform tasks ranging from clothing selection recommendations to advanced health advisory services.
This is Meta's new strategy to deeply integrate AI into their applications and bring users' daily lives under the closest control of digital technology.
