When Apple introduced its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, priced at $1,999, it faced fierce criticism from major competitor Samsung. Apple's CEO Jon Tornaps boasted that the phone represents the biggest innovation since the original iPhone, but Samsung responded sarcastically on social media, saying "Let's talk after we've warmed up our leftovers."

In reality, Samsung had pioneered the foldable phone market about seven years earlier, starting in 2019, and has already produced around 20 models to date. More interestingly, language learning app Duolingo also joined in criticizing Apple, humorously objecting to Apple's use of the name "Duo" for their famous logo. Duolingo sarcastically claimed ownership of the term.

Despite the numerous criticisms and backlash, Apple shows no signs of backing down. CEO Jon Tornaps responded firmly at the launch event, stating that competitors' foldable phones are essentially just two phones forced together, while their iPhone Duo features a completely unique and revolutionary design that stands apart from anything else.
