Due to ongoing global memory shortages, Apple is preparing to raise the prices of its products.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that raising prices in response to these shortages is an unavoidable situation.

Apple has previously shielded consumers from direct impact of rising costs, but the company says it can no longer continue to do so under current circumstances.

The rise in RAM prices is being driven by AI companies bulk-ordering large amounts of memory for their data centers.

On the manufacturing side, producers are unable to meet demand, causing RAM and storage costs to increase, which in turn has led to price hikes for gaming devices, laptops, and other technology products.

Tim Cook indicated that memory prices and availability for tech products need to return to appropriate levels.

While Apple hasn't specified exact price changes for upcoming iPhones launching later this year, according to The Wall Street Journal's estimates, the next iPhone 18 Pro could see prices rise from the current iPhone 17 Pro's $1,099 to as high as $1,299.

Since March, Apple has suspended sales of Mac Studio models with 512GB RAM and raised the base price of the Mac Mini to $799, showing that Apple products are already being noticeably affected by the current RAM shortage.
